waiting for a makeover

I am (im)patiently waiting for my blog makeover. Once that happens I will be back for good.

Evelyn is just shy of 7 months and better than ever. She is so much fun and full of smiles and laughter. She is also on a great schedule taking two naps a day (morning, afternoon) and goes to sleep between 7-7:30.

As for myself. I am back. Since I last posted, I had yet another breast biopsy, which (thankfully) came back cancer free. I am getting ready to wrap up my spring class tomorrow and run a 10 miler this Sunday.  I feel like my body is mine again. After infertility treatments, breast biopsies, and pregnancy I have my body back. I'm ready to run.

February & 4 months

My little Evelyn has really been growing up this month.
- sleeps 8 - 6:45/7 (perfect because I can run before she wakes)
- loves being a jumping bean in the jumperoo
- giggled for 5 minutes straight at Dex lapping the basement
- cannot get enough of sophie the giraffe and the teether uncle ry bought
- loves listening to stories and turns the pages
- takes 3 naps/day
- ABC's is the song of choice, but loves music in general
- studies Dex and puts her hand out to pet him
- rolled over and I missed it!

I love this little peanut more than words could ever express and I am so thankful every day that I can stay home with her. Even on the days where nothing seems to be going right I just look at that big smile and all is right in the world.

my newborn is a baby now

Somewhere in between the craziness of the holidays Evelyn grew into a baby and no longer a tiny fragile newborn. Ok, well maybe she was never really that tiny or fragile at 8lb 12oz, but in my eyes she was just the tiniest peanut. She is so fun right now and loves to observe everything that is going on around her.  Her new thing is sleeping with a bunny blanket/stuffed animal. As soon as you give it to her she calms down and snuggles in for a nap. We constantly move it when she is asleep to not cover her face...10 minutes later there she is again with it pressed up against her cheek.

One of my goals for 2012 is to be a better blogger. I want to document Evelyn's life as much as possible because I don't want to forget one detail of it. My 2012 resolution is to create goals every month. I think a year-long resolution is too unrealistic and quite daunting. Things change and you need to adjust, so I created a year long monthly chart wherein I will list my goals for each month. This month my goals are to get my running legs back and gather all necessary supplies in order to make baby food for Ev.

I just wrapped up my online class and will begin my next class in 2 weeks. It feels great to be free for a bit and have some time to recharge!

Evie met her maker

The day I got released from Dr. Russell's care he told me not to return for baby number 2 until "that baby is sleeping through the night." It just happens that Evie slept through the night for the first time before meeting her maker. So, is it time for baby number 2? Am I crazy? Yes, in fact I am crazy to already be thinking about a second one so let's see if I can hold off on this urge until next fall.

As for the little Evie pie -- she is growing so much. She attended her first UD tailgate and was baptized this past weekend. She is also officially sleeping through the night, but I don't want to jinx it. She is still sleeping and right now it is 6:40 am. At 5:30 I couldn't believe she was still sound asleep so I just laid there staring at her for an hour waiting for her to wake up, but nothing.  Right now she is still asleep and I'm up pumping...amazing :)
